Free DAR Searchable Databases Online

The national office of the Daughters of the American Revolution has launched the DAR Genealogical Research System, providing free searchable access to materials collected by the DAR over the past 119 years. The system, which is being added to on an ongoing basis, includes the following searchable databases:

  • Ancestor - Established DAR Revolutionary War Ancestors with listings of applications submitted by descendants

  • Member - Limited information about deceased and former DAR members

  • Descendants - Index to generations included in applications, between DAR members and their Revolutionary War ancestors

  • Resources - DAR Library Revolutionary Pension Extract Card Index, Analytical Index Cards, cemetery transcriptions, family Bibles, and other records collected by DAR members.

  • Library Catalog - Catalog of materials housed in the DAR Library in Washington, DC

The system functions as an index to records; copies of the source materials can be ordered from the DAR by following the instructions included in the Research System.
