Researching African-American Genealogy

Researching African-American family history often presents a unique set of challenges, especially for those whose ancestors who were slaves prior to the Civil War. The Topeka Genealogical Society, working in partnership with the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library is pleased to be able to offer a special program featuring speaker Traci Wilson-Kleekamp from 1-4pm on Saturday, February 6th at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library. Traci has had extensive experience researching her own slave ancestors in Missouri, as well as in assisting others with their family research. Thanks to the support of the Public Library, this program will be offered at no charge, and is open to the public. If you are in the area, we hope you will join us for this great program.
